Blog #6 - Educational Technology End of Semester Reflections
As I conclude this transformative experience of incorporating technology into K-6 education, I reflect on the profound shifts and insights that have unfolded during this course. Embracing technology has not only made me more tech-savy but has also empowered me to craft-lessons that captivate and engage students. Witnessing heightened motivation and enthusiam amoung students when technology is seamlessly integrated into lessons has been truly remarkable.
My perspective on technology's role in the classroom has undergone a significant transformation. Initially cautious due to concerns about potencial technological glitches, time consuming log-ins, and troubleshooting issues, I also wondered how it would align with diverse learning needs in K-6 settings. However, as the course unfolded, I discovered the versatility of digital technologies in catering to the unique strengths and needs of each learner. Through practical applications during my practicum, I harnessed technology to eludicate complex concepts, providing students with visual tools that enhanced their understanding.
The course has illuminated pathways to seamlessly weave technology into the curriculum, transending traditional passive learning into interactive and engaging experiences. The dynamic force of techology has the potencial to revolutionize the way our students learn, fostering a more participatory and enriched educational environment. My journey has instilled in me a profound appreciation for techology's role in improving learning outcomes, and I am eager to continue exploring innovative ways to integrate it effectively into my future teaching practices.
Furthermore, this experience has taught me invaluable lessons beyond the digital realm. Collaborating with a fellow classmate during my practicum provided a unique opportunity for mutual learning. We exchanged advice on lessons, discussed what worked well and shared insights on areas for improvement. This collaborative aspect enriched my understanding and enhanced my teaching practices, emphasizing the significance of peer learning and collaboration in the dynamic landacape of education.

Hi Kya, I really enjoyed reading your reflection of how technology influenced your practicum and your key takeaways from it. I appreciate that you mentioned troubleshooting issues because I found that it was also a worry for me as I had Grade 1 students who require lots of direct teacher support. The visual aspect of technology works so wonderfully for students who require that visual aid fro their learning. The use of technology was super engaging in my practicum classroom as well!
